On the auspicious occasion of the ‘Foundation Day of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura’, I extend my sincere greetings and best wishes to the people of these three distinguished states of the North Eastern region.
This day marks a historic milestone of 1972, when Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura attained full statehood, signifying an important chapter in India’s federal and democratic journey. Each of these states embodies a unique identity: Manipur with its rich civilizational heritage and natural elegance, Meghalaya with its majestic landscapes and ecological abundance and Tripura with its proud history, cultural depth and growing economic vitality.
The spirit, resilience and cultural diversity of the people of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura have greatly enriched the nation’s social fabric and made valuable contributions to India’s progress, in keeping with the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
On this occasion, I convey my warm wishes to all citizens of these states, including those residing in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. May this Foundation Day further strengthen unity, inspire collective endeavour and reaffirm our shared commitment towards building a Viksit Bharat.
