Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 19: It was a day of automotive grandeur in Port Blair as Legacy Automobiles Private Limited (MG Andaman), the authorized dealer for JSW MG Motor India, hosted ‘The Seven Stars of MG’ at the scenic Hotel Sinclair Bayview on 18 Jan 2026. The event celebrated a dual milestone: the grand launch of the All-New MG Hector 2026 and a bulk delivery ceremony of seven MG cars in a single day.
The atmosphere was electric as the dealership handed over keys to seven proud new owners and secured five fresh spot bookings, signaling a strong start for the new model year.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Mr. B. Binoy, Deputy Director, State Transport Authority, who commended the dealership’s contribution to the islands’ transport landscape. Mr. Pradeep Kumar, Chief Manager, State Bank of India (SME), attended as the Guest of Honour. The ceremony also saw the presence of distinguished guests from JSW MG Motor India, including Mr. Teja Kilari and Mr. Abhinay Akula, Area Sales Managers, who flew in to support the local team.
Taking center stage was the All-New Hector 2026, launched at an aggressive starting price of ₹11.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The 2026 edition arrives with a bold new look featuring the “Aura Hex” Grille and redesigned 18-inch ‘Aurs Bolt’ alloy wheels. It introduces premium colour options like Celadon Blue and Pearl White, alongside classics like Glaze Red and Starry Black. Inside, the cabin is upgraded with a segment-leading 14-inch HD Portrait Infotainment System now featuring “i-Swipe” gesture controls and “Hinglish” voice commands. Safety remains paramount with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Traffic Jam Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Leading the EV Revolution and addressing the gathering, the Directors of Legacy Automobiles, Mrs. Urvee Eklavya Lall and Mrs. Gouri Lall, announced that MG Andaman has secured the highest EV sales in the region, capturing over 50% of the market share in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in 2025.
“We are thrilled to have sold over a ‘century’ of cars within just one year,” Mrs. Lall remarked, noting that their sales and service network now extends to various remote islands. The Directors also highlighted a major focus on infrastructure, confirming that JSW MG India and MG Andaman are focussed and actively planning establishment of EV charging stations at significant touchpoints across the islands.
Concluding the event, the management reiterated their commitment to serving customers with the best offers and set a firm target to retain the No. 1 EV Seller position in 2026.
