
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 18: An Orientation Programme on the Inclusion of Children with Hearing Impairment was successfully conducted at Government Middle School (GMS), Pudumadurai. The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness and building the capacity of teachers and parents to support children with hearing impairment in inclusive educational settings.
The programme comprised seven sessions, led by experienced resource persons. A total of 14 participants attended the programme, including 04 teachers, 01 Headmaster, 08 parents/family members, and 01 Anganwadi Worker. The sessions focused on understanding hearing impairment, inclusive classroom strategies, parental involvement, and support mechanisms for children with hearing impairment.
In addition to the orientation sessions, HI-related (Hearing Impairment–related) activities were also conducted to provide practical exposure and enhance understanding among participants.
