
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 18: Health Mela at RGT Public Vidyalaya highlights holistic well-being RGT Public Vidyalaya, Sri Vijaya Puram, organized a vibrant Health Mela under the aegis of its Health & Wellness Club on 17 January 2026, with the objective of promoting physical, mental and emotional wellbeing among students.
Dr. Suja Antony, Ex. Director. Directorate of Health Services, Sri Vijaya Puram was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr. Neena graced the occasion as the guest of honour.
The programme began with a welcome song, followed by felicitation to the esteemed guest. The dignitaries then lit the ceremonial lamp, marking the formal inauguration of the event. Welcoming the gathering, the principal, emphasised the importance of cultivating healthy habits among the students from an early age.
A thoughtful speech by Shayoni of Class X highlighted simple ways to maintain good health, while a colourful fashion show by little children dressed as different sources of nutrition creatively conveyed the message of nutritious eating. Ms. Rakshandha Dubey, Psychologist, addressed the gathering on mental well-being, stress management and emotional balance.
The event was further enriched by a lively dance performance and a comprehensive health check-up camp conducted by Dr. Neena and her team of doctors, providing valuable medical support and guidance to students. Nutritious food items along with displays of various knowledge regarding health and nutrition were showcased during a visit to the health food stalls. An expert-led yoga display was also part of the mela.
In her keynote address, the Chief Guest, Dr. Suja Anthony shared knowledgeable insights and motivating advice on holistic health. She emphasised the interconnectedness of physical, mental and emotional wellness and encouraged students to adopt balanced lifestyles, seek help when needed, and become ambassadors of health and well being in their families and communities.
The health mela incorporated stalls displaying varieties of nutritious and healthy food items along with demonstration of yoga, meditation and handwashing.
The programme concluded with a Vote of thanks by the Headmistress followed by food distribution. The Health Mela proved to be an informative and engaging initiative, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic student well-being.
