Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 15: The Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, organized an exposure visit to Sippighat Nursery as part of the PM-DAKSH Skill Training Programme – Assistant Plant Care Taker Course, with the active participation of 30 trainees.
The exposure visit was designed to provide practical field-based learning and to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and hands-on application. The trainees actively participated in bouquet making, wreath making, and garland making, gaining experience in nursery operations, plant maintenance, floral arrangement, and basic entrepreneurial skills.
The programme was enriched by the presence of officials from the Agriculture Department, including Dr. S. C. Rekha, Assistant Director (Agriculture); and other supporting staff. The Block Technology Manager, ATMA, provided an informative introduction to nursery practices and government-supported agricultural initiatives.
Ms. Sumithamol, Director, and officials of CRC A&N Islands, encouraged and motivated the trainees to pursue skill-based and sustainable livelihood options. The exposure visit reflects CRC A&N Island’s continued commitment to inclusive skill development and empowerment of Divyangjan under national flagship initiatives such as PM-DAKSH.
