Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 15: The Island Track Cycling Team is putting up a strong performance on the first day at the 69th National School Track Cycling Championship, being held at the Sido Kanhu Velodrome, Ranchi, from 13th to 17th January 2026.
In the Individual Time Trial event for [U-17 Girls], Ms. Namita Violet captured the gold medal, while Ms. I S Britney earned the Bronze Medal. Ms. Britney [U-19 Girls] won a silver medal and Kumar Lionald Becker-17[Boys] secured a bronze in the Individual Time Trial event. Their stellar performances have illuminated the competition and highlighted the growing talent in school level cycling across the nation.
Mr. Vikram Singh, Director (Education), extended heartfelt congratulations, saying, “Ms. Namita Violet, Ms. I S Britney, Ms. Britney and Kumar Lionald Becker have made us all proud. The championship, part of the School Games Federation of India’s calendar, has drawn participants from all states and union territories, creating a vibrant arena for future cycling stars.
