
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 15: In a significant enforcement, Ograbraj Police cracked a high-value land fraud case involving over ₹1.24 crore by meticulously collecting documentary evidence, recording victim statements, scrutinising land records, sale agreements, dishonoured cheques and bank transactions related to Survey No. 161/1 of Ograbraj village. The investigation established that the same plot had been fraudulently sold to multiple buyers, prompting a strong criminal case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
After registration of the case, the accused absconded to the mainland and deliberately attempted to erase his digital foot print by switching off known mobile numbers. The investigating team employed advanced technical analysis, including CDR and IPDR tracking. Persistent digital surveillance ultimately revealed the accused’s location in Salt Lake City, West Bengal.
After obtaining approval from competent authority, a police team consisting SI Mohammed Rafique, IO of the case along with PCs Mohammed Asraf & Naresh Das proceeded to West Bengal and maintained discreet surveillance and on 29th December 2025, the accused was apprehended in a swift, well-coordinated operation and was brought to Sri Vijaya Puram after obtaining Transit Remand from Hon’ble Court at Bidhan Nagar. On 31/12/2025, accused Rahul Ram was produced before the Hon’ble Court and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. Further investigation is in progress.
The entire operation was conducted under the leadership of Inspector. Stalin N S, SHO PS Ograbraj under the command of Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Bambooflat and overall supervision of Mr. Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS, Deputy Inspector of Police, South Andaman District.
