
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 15: In a significant breakthrough, Police Station Aberdeen has successfully unearthed a case involving the circulation of forged Local Certificates in the Little Andaman area, exposing an organized attempt to misuse official documentation. The operation was carried out with the effective assistance and close coordination of the local police of PS Hut Bay, demonstrating strong inter-district cooperation and professional policing.
On 01/12/2025, an FIR has been registered at PS Aberdeen for using forged Local Certificates in R.K. Pur area, Little Andaman and investigation was entrusted to SI Tejeshwar Rao of PS Aberdeen. During the course of investigation, 17 forged Local Certificates were seized. All the certificates were found to have identical format, bearing a forged digital signature and the same time-stamp (29.05.2023 at 10:33:01 hrs) in the name of the then Tehsildar, Mr. Gopal Chandra Mosid.
Further it has been revealed that the certificates were digitally forged by one Sujoy Mondal of Dairy Farm, Sri Vijaya Puram. These forged certificates were further circulated by Hiramon Biswas, Sujan Baidya and Sudeep Joddar of R.K. Pur, Little Andaman, who collected money from beneficiaries through cash and UPI payments. The accused persons formed a nexus for forging and selling these Local Certificates, which are being used for availing ship journey concessions and other benefits meant exclusively for genuine islanders.
Initially accused Hiramon Biswas, S/o Krishna Pada Biswas, 25 years, R/o RK Pur, Little Andaman, Sujan Baidya, S/o Mr. Gopal Baidya, 24 years, private worker, R/o RK Pur, Katai Basti, Ward No. 11, Little Andaman and Sudeep Joddar, S/o Ramesh Joddar, 23 years, R/o RK Pur, Little Andaman were arrested and remanded to Judicial Custody by the Court.
The keen ping of this nexus, namely Sujoy Mondal, S/o Mirtunjay Mondal, 27 years, private worker R/o Dairy Farm, Sri Vijaya Puram who fled to West Bengal has also been arrested by the Investigating Officer and team from West Bengal and brought to Sri Vijaya Puram. He was produced before the Court from where he remanded to Judicial Custody. Further investigation is underway to identify additional beneficiaries and the full extent of the racket.
The entire investigation was carried out under the supervision of Inspector Vishal Ram, SHO PS Aberdeen under the command of Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO South Andaman and overall supervision of Mr. Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Andaman District.
