
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 13: The Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, organized an exposure visit to Sippighat Nursery as parb maintenance, floral arrangement, and basic entrepreneurial skills.
The trainees expressed enthusiasm and keen interest throughout the programme and benefited from direct interaction with agriculture professionals, learning about plant propagation, seasonal flowering plants, soil management, and employment opportunities in the horticulture sector. The exposure enhanced their confidence, teamwork, and vocational readiness.
The programme was enriched by the presence of officials from the Agriculture Department, including Dr. S. C. Rekha, Assistant Director (Agriculture); Mr. Pankaj Sammadar, Agriculture Assistant; Mr. Sahir Rehman, ATM; Mr. Paramashivam, Head Worker, along with Ms. Naziya. The Block Technology Manager, ATMA, provided an informative introduction to nursery practices and government-supported agricultural initiatives.
The visit was also graced by Sumithamol, Director, and officials of CRC A&N Islands, whose encouragement and interaction motivated the trainees to pursue skill-based and sustainable livelihood options.
The exposure visit reflects CRC A&N Island’s continued commitment to inclusive skill development and empowerment of Divyangjan under national flagship initiatives such as PM-DAKSH. CRC A&N Islands conveyed sincere appreciation to the Agriculture Department and Sippighat Nursery for their valuable support.
