Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 28: A two-day training programme on ‘Bee – Keeping / Shifting of colonies, Bee-box management, honey extraction & Marketing’ was organized by the Department of Agriculture, Rangat in association with UTATMA under farmers-oriented activities at Coconut Plantation Chitrakut on Dec. 24 & 26.
At the outset, Mrs. Dhana Laxmi K, Agriculture Assistant welcomed the gathering and highlighted Bee-Keeping, its scope, multiplication techniques and honey extraction. During the technical session, Mr. C. Santosh Kumar, Agriculture Field Assistant detailed about the understanding bee colonies and their communication, assembling and installing bee hives. Mr. Jogeshwar Ram, and Miss. Manisha Pathak, Agriculture Field Assistant spotlighted about overall Bee Management & Marketing. Altogether 20 farmers participated in the training programme.
