Port Blair, Apr 29: Mr. N. Peddi Raju, State Vice President, Andaman and Nicobar Vidyut Shramik Sang in his letter addressed to the Secretary, Power, A & N Administration has requested him to look into the matter of appointment against leave vacancies and also in appointment under compensated grounds.
Mr. Raju advocating his request has stated that “Electricity Department has stopped appointing employees against the Leave Vacancies since last two months. As a result the works are getting affected and if appointments are given against the Leave Vacancies, then it will help a few persons to earn their livelihood during that Leave period.”
Mr. Raju further in his letter stated that “Further, the department had stopped the compensated appointments since very long time. As a result, the eligible persons for compensated appointments as per the list prepared and maintained by the department are not getting job and they face untold difficulties for their livelihood in absence of earning member in their families.”
