
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 14: A Re-KYC and Jan Suraksha Campaign Camp was organized on 12th September 2025 at Stewert Gunj Gram Panchayat, by Union Territory Level Banker’ Committee, State Bank of India, A&N Islands covering all bank branches of the Ferrargunj Block. The objective of the program was to create awareness among customers regarding the importance of Re-KYC updation and to extend the benefits of Social Security Schemes under the Jan Suraksha umbrella – Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
The program was graced by Mr. Sudhanshu Prasad, Regional Director, RBI, Kolkata, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included Mr. Sanatan Mishra, UTLBC Convener and General Manager, SBI, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Tiwari, General Manager, Bank of Baroda, Smti. Lalita Tigga, BDO, Ferrargunj Block, Ms Mariyam Bibi, Zilla Parishad Member, Bambooflat, Mr. M K Hussain, Pradhan, Stewert Gunj Gram Panchayat, Mr. P Abdul Basher, Pradhan, Kanyapuram Gram Panchayat, Mr. Ram Babu, Pradhan, Wimberlygunj Gram Panchayat, Smti. Rasheeda, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Hope Town, Mr. Bala Krishna, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Shore Point, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Dongra, Divisional Manager, Canara Bank, Mr. Subhabrata Chakraborty,Regional Head, AXIS Bank and Mr. Ragubhir, General Manager, ANSCB Ltd.
In their addresses, Mr. Sudhanshu Prasad, Mr. Sanatan Mishra, and Mr. Sanjay Kumar Tiwari highlighted the significance of KYC updation and social security schemes in strengthening financial inclusion. The Regional Director, RBI instructed all banks to complete the Re-KYC exercise within this week to ensure uninterrupted banking services for customers and create greater awareness on cyber fraud prevention and strengthen customer protection mechanisms.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from customers, with dedicated facilitation counters set up by different banks for on-the-spot Re-KYC updation and Jan Suraksha enrollments. Bank officials also interacted with customers and clarified queries on financial products, social security schemes, and safe banking practices.
A cheque of Rs. 2,00,000 was handed over to one of the beneficiary of PMJJBY residing at Hopetown village, who lost her husband recently by the uprooting of tree at their residence due to bad weather.
The event concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. C Raj, Director, RSETI, acknowledging the support of all dignitaries, participating banks, and customers.
