
Sri Vijayapuram, Sept 14: Hindi Day was observed & Hindi Fortnight celebrations are inaugurated in Botanical Survey of India, Andaman and Nicobar Regional Centre to mark the adoption of Hindi language as official language of India on 14.09.2025.
This was to bring unity among the diversified languages of our country. The programme was inaugurated by Regional Head in-charge, Dr. Sudipta Kumar Das with lightening of Lamp. Dr. Pankaj Arvind Dhole, Botanist & Hindi Officer, presented the message to the nation by Home Minister, Mr. Amit Shah, towards popularization and promotion of Rajbhasa. Dr. Das emphasized upon the importance of using Hindi works in the office as well as in day to day life and brief about Official Language Acts which was promulgated implementation on 14th September, 1949 for the adoption of Hindi language as official language and also on Rajbhasha Article 343-351, section 17 of schedule 7.
Scientists/Officers and staff of BSI actively participated in the programme. The programme was moderated by Mr. Prakash Horo, Junior Translation Officer who also delivered the vote of thanks.
