Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 29: The 1st State Level Committee Meeting of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) was held today in the Mini Conference Hall, Secretariat, under the Chairmanship of the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Social Welfare), A&N Administration. The meeting was attended by Secretary (Social Welfare), Nodal Officer (Prohibition), State Level Committee Members of NMBA, including Officers from the Police, Health, Education, NGOs, Retired Civil Servants, and representatives from the State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA), Tamil Nadu, who joined through video conference.
During the meeting, various key points, challenges, and strategies for strengthening awareness, preventive education, rehabilitation services, and Inter-Departmental coordination under NMBA were discussed in detail. Commissioner-cum-Secretary emphasized on collective efforts of Departments, NGOs, and community stakeholders to make the Andaman & Nicobar Islands a Drug-Free Society.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from all stakeholders to extend full cooperation in the effective implementation of NMBA activities across the Islands.
