
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 29: On the occasion of National Sports Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary Hockey Wizard Major Dhyan Chand, Table Tennis Singles and Doubles events were organized at Andaman Mahila Mandal, Sri Vijaya Puram. The program was organized by MY Bharat, Sri Vijaya Puram in association with Andaman Mahila Mandal and Maharashtra Mandal, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The Chief Guest of the event was National Tennis Player Mr. Alok Bora, who inaugurated the tournament by garlanding the portrait of Major Dhyan Chand and administering the Fit India Pledge. He also declared the matches open with inspiring words for the young participants.
Prominent National Table Tennis Players – Miss Sharin, Runa Laila Khatun, Rashmi, and Deepak – graced the occasion with their presence, motivating the budding players.

Boys’ Doubles: 4 Teams
Girls’ Doubles: 3 Teams
Girls’ Singles: 7 Players
Boys’ Singles: 9 Players
Mr. Sukha Ranjan Biswas, Joint Director, MY Bharat, was also present on the occasion and offered floral tributes to Major Dhyan Chand, while also addressing the gathering with encouraging remarks.
Among the distinguished guests were Dr. Sunita Patil, Secretary, Andaman Mahila Mandal, and Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma, Physical Education Teacher, who appreciated the efforts taken to promote fitness and sports among youth.
Earlier, Mr. Gopal Ch. Biswas, MY Bharat, extended a warm welcome to the gathering and later proposed the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all dignitaries, participants, and organizers.
The event concluded with a message of sportsmanship, unity, and fitness, in true spirit of National Sports Day.
