Sri Vijaya Puram, Jun 17: The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) under the aegis of the District Administration, South Andaman in collaboration with PANKH NGO, successfully organized a three-day summer camp from 12th to 14th June 2025 at Seva Niketan, Dairy Farm, Sri Vijaya puram.
This thoughtfully curated camp brought together children from various Child Care Institutions across the District aiming to nurture their emotional, social and physical well-being in a safe, joyful and empowering environment.
Over the course of three transformative days, the children were engaged in a series of enriching activities designed to build life skills, self-confidence and resilience. One of the highlights was an inspiring session on life skills conducted by Swami Shuddhanand of Chinmaya Mission. Through storytelling and reflective interaction, he instilled in the young minds the power of positive thinking, the importance of discipline and the timeless value of hard work.
To promote physical vitality and teamwork, lively games and dynamic Zumba sessions were conducted by Ms. Pooja Biswas, a certified Zumba expert. The children responded with enthusiasm and energy making the sessions not just fun but deeply invigorating.
Adding a unique holistic dimension to the camp, Ms. Rajini, a trained Yoga Therapist, introduced the children to Sujok therapy, an innovative healing technique rooted in the principles of acupuncture and acupressure. Demonstrating how simple pressure points on the hands and feet correspond to vital organs, she explained how this non-invasive and drug-free method can support physical and mental wellness for people of all ages.
In total, 36 children from various Child Care Institutions participated in this heartwarming and empowering initiative, carrying home not just memories, but meaningful tools for life.
The District Administration, South Andaman through such collaborative efforts strives to create nurturing spaces where every child can thrive, dream and grow into their fullest potential.
