Port Blair, Feb 19: With the view to protect and improve the quality of environment and to prevent, control and abate environmental pollution in the islands due to Stone Crushing Units, the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, has laid down specific sitting guidelines/criteria for Stone Crushing Units. The draft notification has been published vide notification no.10-12/PCC/ Gen-Consent/2011, dated Dec. 30, 2011 and sixty days time has been given for submission of objections or suggestions to the draft notification.
The draft notification has been placed in the Administration web site and also published in The Daily Telegrams on 05th February 2012 and in the Dweep Samachar on 07th February 2012.
The last date for receipt of objections or suggestions is Feb 29, 2012. Interested persons can send their objections/ suggestions to “The Chairman Pollution Control Committee, Department of Science & Technology, Dolly Gunj” by post or through electronically at e-mail: dstandamans@gmail.com. The objections and suggestions which may be received from any person with respect to the said draft notification before the expiry of the period so specified shall be considered by the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, a communication received here said.
