Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr. 25: The students of ANM Training School, Sri Vijaya Puram organized a Nutrition Demonstration Program today in the Health & Wellness Centre (HWC), Haddo focusing on the nutritional needs of pregnant and lactating mothers. The programme was aimed to raise awareness about the importance of proper nutrition during pregnancy and breast feeding emphasizing how a balanced diet supports the health of both mother and child.
Shri. Someshwar Rao, Councillor of Haddo,Ward No.2 was the chief guest while Dr. Rashida Banu, Medical Officer, HWC ,Haddo was the guest of honour.
In his address, the chief guest gave a short health talk on the importance of balanced diet and dietary measures to reduce anaemia among pregnant women. In her address, the guest of honour highlighted on common pregnancy related nutritional issues and thanked the ANM students for organizing such a program which is practical & useful for the community.
A food exhibition was displayed by the ANM students demonstrating easy to prepare, nutritious and low cost recipes using locally available ingredients, which was explained by the students and witnessed by the chief guest, many pregnant mothers and other patients present in the Health and Wellness Centre.
In the end, Smt. Bincy V. Kuruvilla, Principal, ANM Training School proposed the vote of thanks and assured that such initiatives for community benefits will be held regularly in the future too. The entire function was coordinated by Smt. Kalawati Dutta, Nursing Tutor, ANM Training School.
