Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr. 23: World book and copyright day is celebrated globally declared by UNESCO on 23rd April, to recognize the power of books as a bridge between generations and across the cultures emphasizing on promoting reading, publishing and intellectual property rights. As a part of the celebration, a Book Exhibition was organized in the State Library which was inaugurated by Shri. Vikram Singh, Director (Education) as the chief guest.
The Director (Education) emphasized the importance of books in shaping our knowledge, imagination and critical thinking skills. He encouraged students and readers to explore the world of books and make reading a lifelong habit. The State Library’s initiative to organize this exhibition reflects its commitment to promoting literacy and cultural enrichment in the community. Deputy Director of Education (Plg), Smt. Archana Singh, Deputy Director of Education (Science), Shri Ram Pravesh large gathering of students, readers, head of schools and various Department attended the event, showcasing their enthusiasm for literature. The Book Exhibition will remain open for general public from 9 am to 7 pm on April 24 and 25.
The book exhibition features a vast collection of more than 850 books across various genres including fiction, non-fiction, children’s book, Yoga, health, medicine, sports and games, geography and history, books on Andaman, Education, religious books, philosophy, psychology, agriculture, environment, competitive entrance exam books and regional language books.
