Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 22: ICDS Project, Ferrargunj organised valedictory event on 22.04.2025 at Wimberly Gunj Panchayat Hall in observance of 7th Poshan Pakhwada focusing on the theme “First 1000 Days of Life” to educate people about its importance. The programme was graced by Smti. Lalita Tigga, Block Development Officer, Ferrargunj (incharge CDPO, F/Gunj) as Chief Guest who addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of Poshan Pakhwada. The programme was also attended by Shri K. Venkat Ram Babu, Pradhan Wimberlygunj, Shri. P. Abdul Basheer, Pradhan Kanyapuram, Mukhya Sevika(s), Poshan Staff and Anganwadi Workers of ICDS, Ferrargunj.
The 7th Poshan Pakhwada, focuses on four key themes; i.e. “First 1000 Days of Life”, “Popularization of Poshan Tracker”, “Management of Malnutrition” and “Healthy Lifestyle”. These themes emphasizes nutrition’s crucial role from conception to a child’s second birthday, aiming to prevent stunting and to reduce under-nutrition in children and addressing malnutrition through Community-Based Management. Additionally, it is also encouraging community participation through a digital tool for tracking nutritional outcomes and promoting healthy habits to address obesity in children. During the event, the PHN Smti. Kavita Bai from PHC, Wimberlygunj, stressed upon the physical and mental health of every female during their pregnancy. The programme also featured a display of nutritious foods, millet based recipes prepared by various Anganwadi Workers & Helpers of ICDS Ferrargunj, which received praise from all attending dignitaries.
