Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 15: The District Administration has taken serious note of an incident of unauthorized dumping of loose earth in the Garacharma village area near Apollo Clinic during the night hours. A field report received by the District Control Room indicated suspicious movement in the locality. In response, a team of Revenue Officials was swiftly deployed to investigate the matter.
Upon inspection, it was ascertained that approximately 100 cubic meters of loose earth had been dumped without requisite permission on a portion of land at Garacharma village.
Taking serious cognizance of this unlawful act, the Revenue Authorities have seized all the machinery present at the site and initiated proceedings under relevant sections of the Land Revenue and Land Reforms Regulations (LR & LRR). A fine of Rs.60,000 has been imposed on the offenders and further legal action is being pursued.
The Deputy Commissioner has issued a stern warning to all such unscrupulous elements indulging in illegal mining, earth transportation and unauthorized dumping. Further the District Administration, South Andaman reiterates that such illegal activities will not be tolerated. Strict penal action will be taken against all violators. The law will take its own course and those who attempt to bypass it, will face the consequences.
The general public is hereby advised to follow all legal provisions concerning land use, mining and material movement.
