Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 02: On the occasion of “World Autism Awareness Day” and “World Homeopathy Day”, a Homeopathy Camp cum Parent Training Programme on Diet for Children with Autism was successfully conducted today at the Seminar Hall, CRC, Brookshabad. The event was organized by CRC A&N Islands in collaboration with Ayush Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram to raise awareness about the impact of nutrition and homeopathic interventions on children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The programme began with a lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a welcome address delivered by Mr.T.Y.Abid, Lecturer in Physiotherapy. The keynote address was presented by Mrs.Sumithamol, Director, CRC A&N Islands highlighting the importance of a holistic approach in managing autism through dietary interventions and homeopathy.
Dr. Smriti Das, CHO, under ANSAS, facilitated the session on “Autism – An Introduction” followed by Dr. Manabika Dutta, MO, I/c, Ayush elaborated on the “Role of diet in improving behavioral and cognitive functions in children with autism”. Finally, Mr. T.Y.Abid led a session on “Special Diet for Children with Autism: Do’s and don’ts”. Parents and caregivers were educated on the benefits of a balanced diet, avoiding processed foods, and incorporating essential nutrients to support gut health and overall well-being.
A Homeopathy Consultation Camp was also set up, where experienced homeopathic practitioners provided individualized consultations to children and their families. The segment looked into ways in which homeopathy can help sustain dietary changes aimed at relieving symptoms of children with ASD.
There was a lively participation of parents, special educators, therapists, and other health professionals who took part in the open dialogue sessions and sought clarifications concerning their issues. Parent testimonies regarding the implementation of dietary alterations in the children’s regimes corroborated the value of nutritional planning.
During the vote of thanks, Mrs.Saranyah. R. K conveyed appreciation to all organizing and resource persons, participants, and teams for their contribution for the success of the event.
The program concluded with the promise of sustaining the awareness campaign together with the pledge of continuing to assist families in dealing with autism through diet and other holistic therapies.
