Mayabunder, Mar. 30: The District Level Training on Social Awareness & Action to Neutralize Pneumonia Successfully (SAANS) was conducted for Nursing Officers, ANMs / AANMs at Dr. RP Hospital, Mayabunder on Mar. 27. Shri Ashish Joon, Assistant Commissioner (HQ), N&M Andaman, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The training, organized by the District Health Society, North & Middle Andaman, was held under the guidance of Ms. Nandini Maharaj, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman. It was attended by an enthusiastic group of healthcare workers, including Nursing Officers and ANM/AANMs.
Dr. Kumar Gaurav, MD, DNB (Paediatrics), MNAMS, Community Health Centre (CHC), Rangat, the resource official shared the valuable insights on pneumonia prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Participants were introduced to the key components of the SAANS program, which emphasizes a community-centered approach to addressing pneumonia. Topics covered the preventive strategies, early identification of symptoms, appropriate treatment protocols, and the importance of patient education in managing pneumonia effectively. Special attention was given to raising awareness in local communities and strengthening collaborative efforts between healthcare professionals and community leaders to ensure better health outcomes.
The event concluded with a strong commitment from the participants to actively apply the knowledge gained in their communities, focusing on improving health outcomes and combating pneumonia through better prevention and management strategies.
