Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar. 30:The Art & Culture Department, A&N Administration, in association with the National Book Trust (NBT), will be organizing a grand ten-day ‘Andaman Nicobar Book Fair’, to be held at the sprawling ITF Ground at Sri Vijaya Puram, from April 1 to 10, 2025. Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and the Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency will inaugurate this Book Fair as the chief guest at 10 am on April 1, 2025 at the ITF Ground. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS and the Director, National Book Trust, New Delhi, Shri Yuvraj Malik will also be present on the occasion.
This event aims to foster a love for reading and promote literary culture amongst the people, especially students and youth of these Islands. This Book Fair would not only benefit readers of all ages but also serve as an opportunity for publishing houses and authors to connect with the public of these Islands. The Book Fair will remain open from 11 AM to 9 PM everyday till April 10, 2025.
The Book Fair will feature 31 stalls displaying around 30,000 books of various genres and authors from different publishers from mainland India. It will provide an excellent opportunity for people to browse through a wide variety of books and purchase them directly from the publishers.
In addition, curated literary programmes besides some book releases will also be organized in the evening hours. A children’s corner is also being organised in the forenoon from 10 am, at the venue for students of all classes everyday where they will be involved in many interesting learning activities.
Apart from this, food stalls presenting flavourful cuisines will be an added attraction during this ten–day Book Fair which will serve as a hub for literary enthusiasts, educators, students, and the general public to explore new ideas, gain knowledge, and celebrate the joy of reading.
All have been invited to participate in this exciting Book Fair, explore the world of literature, and enrich themselves with the books of great authors from across the globe.
