Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 28: A significant milestone was achieved today in the journey towards providing housing for all, as land allotment licenses were distributed to landless beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) scheme presently residing in Gram Panchayat Beodnabad and Calicut. 18 beneficiaries of GP Beodnabad and 02 beneficiaries of GP Calicut have been allotted 50 Sq. Mtr. land at Chidiyatapu Village under Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil.
The distribution ceremony was graced by Mr. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman district, who handed over the licenses to the beneficiaries. Mr. Vinakay Chamadia, IAS, Additional District Magistrate, South Andaman, was also present on the occasion. Other dignitaries who attended the event included Mr. R. Parmasivam, Pradhan Beodnabad, Mr. Bhoominathan, Zilla Parishad Member, Mr. Thomas Varghese, Tehsildar, Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil and Mrs. Gurjeet Kaur, BDO Prothrapur Block.
This initiative is a testament to the government’s commitment to providing affordable housing to all, particularly those in rural areas. The PMAY-G scheme aims to provide financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries for constructing or upgrading their homes. The distribution of land allotment licenses marks a crucial step towards realizing the dreams of these beneficiaries, who will now have a permanent address and a sense of security.
