Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 28: Under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Scheme, the ICDS Urban Project organized a special program to honour the CBSE girl toppers of Class X and XII for the academic year 2023-24, marking the 10th anniversary of the scheme. The event was graced by the Assistant Commissioner (Settlement), Director (Social Welfare) and CDPO, who felicitated the achievers with mementos and certificates in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.
Mrs. Zarina Bibi (CDPO), warmly welcomed the dignitaries, students, parents, and teachers to the event. She provided insights into the BBBP scheme, explaining the various welfare initiatives undertaken by the Government of India to safeguard the girl children.
Mr. Abhishek Gulia, AC (Settlement), the Chief Guest, emphasized the importance of educating girls and their role in shaping a progressive society. He urged parents to provide equal opportunities to their daughters and ensure a balanced upbringing for both boys and girls. He also highlighted the need for career guidance to help children achieve their aspirations.
Mr. Ravinder Kumar, Director (Social Welfare) was the Guest of Honour encouraged parents, teachers, and students to support holistic education, including academics, sports, and skill development. He motivated students to explore diverse fields and excel beyond academics.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Archana B. Nair, Supervisor, ICDS Urban Project, expressing gratitude to all attendees for their participation and support.
