Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 27: Surya Foundation & International Naturopathy Organisation (INO), in association with the Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN) and National Institute of Naturopathy, Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India, organized a special program on the theme “Equality and Empowerment of women” at the conference hall of Andaman Law College on March 26, 2025 (Wednesday) as part of the ongoing International Women’s Day celebrations.
Ms. Arvinder Kaur, eminent social worker and wellness coach as the Chief Guest, emphasized the role of holistic wellness in empowering women, stating that health is the foundation of true equality. She highlighted the need for integrating yoga and naturopathy into daily life for overall well-being.
Guest of Honour, Ms. Draupadi Devi, a social worker and health worker spoke about the importance of mental and physical strength for women and encouraged the audience to adopt natural healing practices for a balanced life.
The symposium also featured a book debut function for “Egire Enugu – The Flying Elephant”, a collection of children’s stories translated from English to Telugu by Mrs. V. Leelavathi, an eminent teacher and author. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Leelavathi expressed her joy in bringing rich, imaginative stories to Telugu-speaking children, stating, “Children’s literature is not just about entertainment; it shapes young minds, nurtures curiosity and builds values. Through translation, I hope to bridge cultures and bring these inspiring stories to a wider audience.”
The book was officially debuted by Dr. PVN Sarma, Principal of Law College, and Dr. Ch. Hemanta Rao, President, International Naturopathy Organization (A&N Islands), who praised Mrs. Leelavathi’s contribution to children’s literature.
Special Guest for the occasion, Mr. Palani, a renowned social worker, addressed the audience, highlighting how natural healing and mindful living can transform lives. He encouraged attendees to embrace naturopathy as a way of life.
The program also featured a speech by Harika, a media person, who highlighted the deep connection between women’s empowerment and well-being. Addressing the audience, she stated, “When we prioritize our health—physically, mentally, and emotionally—we gain the strength to uplift others as well. Naturopathy and yoga teach us that healing comes from within, and balance is the key to happiness.”
Earlier, Dr. Ch. Hemanta Rao welcomed the gathering and spoke about the significance of women’s empowerment in naturopathy and holistic health. The event was well-attended by naturopathy practitioners, yoga enthusiasts and members of various women’s organizations. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Gagandeep Singh.
