Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 27: In a significant welfare initiative, the A&N Police had entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Bank of India on 25th January, 2023 to extend the benefits of the Police Salary Package to its entire staff. This comprehensive package includes ‘Accidental Insurance of Rs. 40 lakhs in the event of an unfortunate demise.
In a poignant example, the claim for accidental insurance following the tragic demise of Late Leela Devi, HG(R)/254 who lost her life in a road accident, has been efficiently processed as the maiden case under this package. The deceased’s legal heir Mrs. Seema Devi W/o Aman Kumar R/o South Point received a sum of Rs. 40.00 lakhs under the ‘Police Salary Package on 21st March 2025.
This milestone underscores the unwavering commitment to the well-being of the dedicated Police force and their families. The collaborative efforts between the Andaman and Nicobar Police and the State Bank of India have streamlined the process of disbursing insurance claims, ensuring timely financial assistance to the beneficiaries covered by the Police Salary Package.
