Sri Vijayapuram, Mar 26: The Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), in association with India Tourism, Sri Vijayapuram (Ministry of Tourism, Government of India), successfully organised a Tourism Stakeholders Meet at Hotel Lemon Tree, Sri Vijayapuram on 26th March 2025.
The meeting was graced by Secretary IP&T, Smti. Jyoti Kumari, IAS as the Chief Guest, who emphasized the importance of collective efforts by all stakeholders in promoting the Andaman Islands as a leading tourist destination.
Shri N. Velmurugan, Assistant Director, India Tourism (Ministry of Tourism, GOI), delivered a detailed presentation on the various tourism schemes of the Ministry of Tourism, encouraging stakeholders to leverage government support for infrastructure development and promotion activities.
Dr. C. Sivaperuman, Scientist-E & Officer-in-Charge, Zoological Survey of India (A&N Islands), stressed the importance of sustainable practices in tourism to protect the fragile ecosystem of the Andaman Islands while promoting eco-friendly tourism initiatives.
Dr. K. Chandrasekaran, President, ANCCI, briefed the gathering on new tourism projects proposed in the islands, aimed at diversifying tourism offerings and enhancing visitor experiences.
The event also witnessed the participation of prominent industry leaders including Shri Mohd Jadwet and Shri Madan Lall, General Secretary, ANCCI, who extended their support for collaborative initiatives to strengthen the tourism sector.
Shri M. Vinod, President of AATO, welcomed the dignitaries and stakeholders, thanking India Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, GOI, for their support in promoting Andaman tourism. He emphasized the need for continuous engagement between the government and stakeholders for the sector’s growth.
The evening concluded with an interactive session followed by a networking dinner at Hotel Lemon Tree.
