Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 23: As part of the core programs of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), the District Level Sports Meet 2025 was successfully organized today at JNRM Playground, Sri Vijaya Puram. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the first and second-place winners of three Block Level Sports Meets, competing in various sporting events.
Sports Events Conducted:
• Women’s Category – 100 meters race, Tug of War, and Shot Put
• Men’s Category – 200 meters race, 400 meters Relay Race, and Volleyball
The Chief Guest, Mr. P.V.N. Sarma, Principal, Andaman Law College, highlighted the importance of fitness and sports in shaping a healthy nation, emphasizing the theme “Keep Fit, India Will Be Fit.” He encouraged the youth to actively participate in sports to build a strong and healthy society.
Also gracing the occasion as special guests were Mr. Anup Kumar Dutta, Media Person (News Sangharsh Aaj Tak), and Dr. Sunita Patil, Secretary, Andaman, who applauded the participants for their dedication and sportsmanship.
The event began with a warm welcome by Mr. Sukha Ranjan Biswas, Deputy Director (OSD), NYKS, Sri Vijaya Puram. Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma, Ph.D. in Volleyball, voluntarily served as the referee for the tournament. The program was coordinated by Mr. Gopal Ch. Biswas (NYKS) and concluded with a vote of thanks.
The District Level Sports Meet 2025 successfully promoted fitness, teamwork, and competitive spirit among youth, reinforcing NYKS’s commitment to youth development through Sports.
