Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 21: A Free Audiometry and Eye Camp for Divyangjan was successfully held at CRC A&N Islands in association with the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Private Practicing Doctor’s Association (ANIPPDA) & Rotary Club, on the observance of World Hearing Day (3rd March 2025) and World Down Syndrome Day (21st March 2025).
This initiative was led by Dr. Dinesh, Secretary of ANIPPDA and a member of the Rotary Club, with the support of a dedicated medical team comprising of Dr. Tamalika Bharadwaj – General Physician, Dr. Aneekha, ENT Surgeon, Mrs. Tiya Raj, Audiologist & Mrs. Pragati, and Optometrist. The event commenced with a welcome address, followed by the keynote address delivered by Mrs. Sumithamol, Director, CRC A&N Islands.
The camp provided free general health check-ups, vision screening, hearing assessments, and ENT consultations for individuals with disabilities. A total of 103 attendees participated, out of which 47 Divyangjan received essential medical care and support.
Additionally, Dr.Dinesh facilitated an Awareness session on World Down Syndrome Day, highlighting the developmental challenges, symptoms, genetic counseling, Pre-natal Care. All the staff members of CRC A&N Islands coordinated the entire event.
Such collaborative efforts play a crucial role in ensuring accessible and inclusive healthcare for all. The event reaffirmed the commitment of CRC A&N Islands & ANIPPDA towards the well-being of the Divyangjan community.
