Campbell Bay, Mar 19: The ongoing fuel crisis in Campbell Bay has led to an unofficial restriction at the local petrol pump, limiting fuel distribution to 300 liters per day. This sudden measure has shocked residents who are now facing difficulties in procuring petrol for their daily needs.
According to sources the shortage stemmed from the unexpected surge in demand following reports of a fuel crisis. As a result, only about 2,500 liters of petrol remain in stock, out of which only 500 liters will be available for public due to some technical issue in pumping fuel out of tank.
According to available information, the next consignment of 20,000 liters of petrol is expected to arrive at Campbell Bay via the cargo vessel Chuglam ship, which is currently stationed near Chowra. It is anticipated to reach Campbell Bay by Saturday. In the meantime, authorities urge residents to remain patient and cooperate with the administration as efforts are underway to replenish fuel supplies at the earliest.
Meanwhile local residents expressed disappointment over the mismanagement and lack of prior communication, stating that better planning could have avoided the inconvenience faced by the public.
Many residents have voiced similar concerns, calling for improved transparency and timely updates regarding fuel availability. The sudden restrictions have caused distress among commuters, especially those who rely on petrol for their daily transportation needs.
