Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 18: The Screening Committee Meeting for the Vikshit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 was successfully conducted today at Andaman Law College, Phoenix Bay, Sri Vijaya Puram. The committee carefully evaluated the submissions to select the top 100 participants, who will now advance to the Nodal Level Competition, scheduled to be held on March 24-25, 2025, at the same venue.
A total of 209 participants from across Andaman and Nicobar Islands had registered through the My Bharat Portal, submitting a one-minute video on the theme “What do you mean by Vikshit Bharat?” These video entries were assessed based on a structured Evaluation Criteria (100 Marks), which included Content Relevance (20 marks), Clarity & Structure (15 marks), Verbal Communication & Body Language (25 marks), Innovation & Creativity (20 marks), Language & Fluency (10 marks), and Adherence to Time (10 marks). In the event of a tie, an on-the-spot question round (10 marks) was used as a deciding factor.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Somraj Gangopadhyay, Advocate, Central Government Advocate, Supreme Court of India, graced the occasion and encouraged the participants with his insights. Dr. P.V.N. Sarma, Principal, Andaman Law College, and Mr. Sukha Ranjan Biswas, Deputy Director (OSD), NYKS, Sri Vijaya Puram, were present as key dignitaries, with Mr. Biswas also serving as the convenor of the organizing committee.
The screening committee comprised esteemed panel members, including Dr. N.J. Sastry, Assistant Professor, Commerce Department, ANCOL, Dr. S. Loganathan, Assistant professor, Political Science and Mr. Shashi Bhushan Prasad Liberian . Their thorough evaluation ensured a fair and transparent selection process.
The program was well coordinated by Mr. Rajiv Mandal, NSS Program Officer, Andaman Law college and Mr. Gopal Ch. Biswas, APA. NYK, Sri Vijaya Puram. The NSS units of various colleges across Andaman and Nicobar Islands also extended their support in organizing the screening process, ensuring the smooth execution of the event.
The selected 100 participants will now prepare for the Nodal Level Competition on March 24-25, 2025, where they will engage in discussions and deliberations aimed at shaping the vision of Vikshit Bharat on “One Nation One Election’
