Mayabunder, Mar 16: In connection with the 100 Days Intensified TB Campaign, an Awareness-cum-Screening programme on tuberculosis (TB) was conducted at Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Mohanpur today among the general public and Health officials, in the presence of Dr. Alice Bwa, Medical Officer, Dr. R.P Hospital Mayabunder .The awareness program aimed to educate the community about tuberculosis, its prevention, and treatment options, emphasizing the importance of early detection and adherence to treatment.
Dr. Alice Bwa, Medical Officer, provided an insightful overview of TB, detailing its transmission, symptoms, and the distinction between latent and active TB. The session aimed to clear up common myths and misconceptions surrounding the disease. Mr. Madhava Rao, District Programme Coordinator for N&MA, also spoke about the Nikshay Poshan Yojna and the Nikshay Mitra initiative, informing the participants about the resources available for those affected by TB.
The participants were made aware of the critical role of early diagnosis and the availability of screening and testing services. Preventive measures were also discussed, including the importance of vaccination, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and ensuring proper ventilation in living spaces to help prevent the spread of TB.
