Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar.6: The Department of Agriculture in association with the National Bee Board, MoA & FW, GoI under the National Bee Keeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) Scheme will be organizing a 2 days District Level Training Programme on Scientific Bee Keeping at two locations in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The details of the training programme are as under.

The training programme aims to enhance the knowledge and skill in Scientific Bee Keeping. Honey Bee plays a vital role in crop pollination and enhances food production, consumes rich bio-diversity, support rural livelihood and promotes environmental sustainability. On Day-1, the training will include insightful theoretical knowledge on developing sustainable beekeeping aspects.
On Day 2, the trainees will be acquainted with hands on practices of handling bee colonies and installation of bee hives. The Farmers/SHGs of South Andaman, Rangat and nearby locations can participate in the training programmes and acquire knowledge and skill to adopt bee keeping which can improve their economic status.
