Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 03: The Pradesh Mahila Congress under the leadership of Mrs. Zubaida Begum, newly appointed State President of Mahila Congress, A&N Islands successfully organized “Mahila Sammelan” at Gandhi Bhawan, Sri Vijaya Puram on 01st March, 2025. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed leaders, including Mrs. Alka Lamba, National President, Mahila Congress & Ex-MLA of Delhi, Mrs. Shafia Zubair, Ex-MLA of Rajasthan, Mr. Rangalal Halder, President, ANTCC and Mr. TSG Bhasker, Chairman, Campaign Committee, ANTCC.
During the Sammelan, Mrs. Zubaida Begum took the oath of office in the presence of the distinguished guests and more than 200 women who attended the event, reaffirming her commitment to empowering women and strengthening the organization in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Alka Lamba emphasized the crucial role of women in politics and society, urging Mahila Congress members to work towards gender equality and grassroots empowerment.
Mrs. Zubaida Begum also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of women’s active participation in governance and policy making.
The Sammelan concluded with enthusiastic participation from Mahila Congress members, reaffirming their dedication to the party’s vision and mission. The event marked a significant step towards strengthening women’s political representation in the region.
A significant highlight of the event was the inauguration of the New Mahila Congress office at Gandhi Bhawan by Mrs. Alka Lamba. She cut the ribbon, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the party’s women’s wing. The inauguration was followed by a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing unity, progress, and the collective aspirations of Mahila Congress members.
