Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 02: District Administration, South Andaman has taken strict action against violators who were indulged in illegal extraction and unauthorized Transportation of earth in contravention of Land Revenue Regulations.
During a recent field inspection, the revenue officials of Ferrargunj tehsil detected 02 Nos. trucks transporting earth at Wandoor village without valid transit passes. As a result, a fine of Rs 44,000/- (Rupees Forty four thousand only) was imposed. Additionally, in Guptapara village, revenue officials found illegal extraction and dumping of earth, the violator was penalized with a fine of Rs 30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand only) for the offense.
In another inspection at Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil, the revenue authorities found the illegal extraction and dumping of earth during night hours using one JCB and two Hitachi machine. The machinery was siezed and a fine of Rs 12,30,000/- (Rupees Twelve Lakh thirty thousand only) was imposed on the violators.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has warned unscrupulous elements involved in illegal extraction and violation of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Land Revenue and Land Reforms Regulation 1966 to desist from indulging in such acts in future failing which stern action would be taken against them.
