
Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 14: The Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India confers the successful 10 years of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme.
Pertaining to this ICDS Urban Project, under Directorate of Social Welfare, Andaman & Nicobar Administration celebrated the successful 10 years of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao under District Hub of Empowerment Women organized an enrolment drive for girl children in schools held on 13.02.2025 at Pentecostal church, dairy farm fisheries colony, aimed at encouraging parents to send their daughters to school and ensuring that every girl child receives the education she deserves. The BBBP scheme, launched by the Government of India, has a strong focus on preventing gender-based discrimination and fostering equal educational opportunities for girls. The enrollment drive sought to address the challenges faced by many girls in rural and underserved areas, where access to education is still a barrier due to social and economic factors.
Key Point: Mrs. Zarina Bibi, Child Development Project Officer, ICDS Urban Project highlighted the Local communities were educated about the importance of sending girls to school and the benefits of education for a brighter future. The drive emphasized the role of education in breaking societal stereotypes and promoting gender equality. The empowerment of women representatives in rural areas, focus on raising awareness about schemes that could benefits the community.
