Car Nicobar, Dec. 17: A vibrant Zonal Level Dance Competition was organized yesterday under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ Scheme to promote awareness about gender equality and empower the girl child. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from young girls showcasing their talent and creativity. The Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS graced the occasion as the chief guest and applauded the initiative. In her address, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of education, awareness about gender equality and opportunities for girls, highlighting how platforms like this help nurture confidence and bring their talents to the forefront.
The CDPO, Nicobar, Smti Sunita Kumari welcomed the gathering and briefed about ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ Scheme. The CDPO underscored the initiatives significance in empowering girls and eradicating gender disparities by encouraging education and holistic development for girls.
Shri Derick Jacob, the First Captain at Kinyuka village , Car Nicobar also addressed the audience and encouraged greater support for initiatives that uplift and empower girls.
The event concluded with prize distribution ceremony to the winners of the competition for their exceptional performance. The events were met with great appreciation, celebrating not only the artistic prowess of the participant but also spreading the vital message of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ to the community.
