Port Blair, July 09: The Andaman Moplah Service Organization (AMSO) has raised concerns over the tragic death of Late V.Vimla, wife of Mr. Krishna Rao, a resident of Dairy Farm, at GB Pant Hospital. In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, the organization expressed deep distress over the incident, emphasizing its impact on public trust in the healthcare system of the islands.
Late V.Vimla’s death has sparked significant outrage, casting doubts on the effectiveness of GB Pant Hospital, historically pivotal in healthcare provision for islanders. The AMSO highlighted previous incidents at the hospital and stressed the need for a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding her demise.
“We condemn such incidents and urge authorities to conduct a free, fair, and transparent inquiry into the cause of death,” stated Abdul Siddique, General Secretary of AMSO. The organization called for systemic improvements in healthcare services, including a comprehensive gap assessment and strategic plan to enhance healthcare delivery across the islands.
AMSO, representing the sentiments of the Telugu community and islanders at large, expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and urged prompt delivery of justice.
