Port Bair, Feb 22: Sethu Maha Patra Kaliyamman Temple, Ferrargunj, Brindaban, South Andaman was inaugurated today. The Temple also celebrated 10 days long annual Utsav Puja with “Kappu Kattu” ceremony which was attended by the about 2000 devotees. Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC also attended the Puja for getting the blessings of Almighty.
He also offered his prayer before the newly paced Kali Devi along with Mr. Anant Rao, General Secretary, District Congress Committee and Mr. Mohammed Ali, Block Congress President of the area. The puja was attended by the villagers, irrespective of caste, creed and religion which was the main characteristic of these Islands. Mr. K Raju, RK Traders of Aberdeen Bazar, who is also President of the Temple Committee, informed Mr. Sharma that on Sunday the 3rd March, 2013, the sacred fire walking ceremony will be celebrated at the temple premises.
