Port Blair, Feb 07: The President of BJPs A &N State Unit, Mr. R Mohan has demanded stern action against those who are responsible for the electrocution of half-a-dozens of lower level employees of Electricity Department, our of which many have already died, in last few years. Mr. Mohan has also raised objection over the fact the Electricity Department is busy in issuing rejoinders than ensuring safety for lower level staffs of the department, who are already facing tones of problems in their daily life.
“Because of the careless attitude of senior officers, lower level staffs are dying and this is surprising that till date no one has been punished for this gross negligence. It seems as the Electricity Department is downplaying these incidents and is covering up its faults,” Mohan said in his press release today.
Mohan demanded the Superintending Engineer of Electricity to publish entire fact in media than publishing only half-truth, which will do no good for the employees, who are risking their lives for the department.
“Fix the responsibility and publish details of all pending inquiry and investigation on these incidents or we will file a PIL against the department,” Mohan said in his press release.
Mohan has also congratulated local media for raising this issue, which will ensure safety of lower level staffs and save many precious lives.
The A & N State BJP President has also demanded compensation for Abil Tirkey, who suffered electrocution on 03rd February 2011 and is the fresh victim of Electricity Department’s negligence.
