Port Blair, Feb 07: The Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI) will be organizing Island Kisan Mela on the theme “horticulture : a promising enterprise in Andaman and Nicobar Islands”, on Feb 9 and “Farm Innovators Day” on Feb 10, 2012 at its CARI premises, Garacharma.
The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Mr. Shakti Sinha will be the chief guest and inaugurate the Island Mela at 10 am on Feb 9. The Director (Agriculture), Director (Fisheries), Director (AH&VS) will be guests of honour and Dr. S.K. Ambast, Director, CARI will preside over the function.
The PCCF & Principal Secretary (S&T), A&N Administration, Mr. D.V. Negi, will be the chief guest and inaugurate the Farm Innovator’s Day on Feb 10 at 10.30 am. The Asstt. Director General (Horti.), CARI, New Delhi, Dr. Umesh Srivastava will be the guest of honour and Dr. S.K. Ambast, Director, CARI will preside over the function, a communication received here said.
