
Port Blair, Oct 25: The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Car Nicobar in collaboration with the District Administration organized one day Yuva Utsav (Youth Festival) on 24th October, 2022 at CWC ground and District Library, Car Nicobar in which more than 300 youths from various villages of Car Nicobar participated. The Yuva Utsav was organized with the objective to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in the spirit of Yuva Shakti and to spread the ideals and values of India’s Freedom Struggle during the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence. On the occasion the following events were organized:-
1. Young Artist Contest – Painting
2. Young Writers Contest – Poetry
3. Mobile Photography Contest
4. Declamation Contest
5. District Youth Convention – “India @2047 YuvaSamvad
6. District Cultural Festival – Group Events
In the inaugural function Mr. Anand Verdhan Mishra, Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Car Nicobar was the chief guest and other guests Mr.H.Nathiniel, Education Officer, Car Nicobar, Mr. Choudhary, Training Incharge, ITI, Arong, Mr. Ahmed Ali, Secretary, and NAA etc. were also present. The Yuva Utsav was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the chief guest and other guests. Earlier Mr.Alphonce Toppo, Deputy Director (OSD), NYK, Car Nicobar welcomed the chief guest and others and briefed about the Yuva Utsav and its events. The chief guest also addressed the youths and urged the youths to engage themselves in nation building activities and he also highlighted India @2047.
In the cultural programmeMr.Mickel Raj, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District was the chief guest. The chief guest and other guests also distributed certificates among winners for each event.
