Port Blair, Jul 22: Mr. AjoyBairagi, State President, BJP A&N Islands has requested Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to delegate the Flag Hoisting Ceremony to Elected Representatives of Panchayat and PBMC.
In a letter addressed to Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Mr. Bairagi mentioned that A&N Islands are planning to celebrate the 15th August Flag Hoisting Ceremony in Grand Scale to kindle the fervour of Nationalism/Patriotism amongst all the citizens of the Islands along with the rest of India.
He stated that the Local body election is over and new Office Bearers have been elected by the people as their representatives as Pradhan, Pramukh and Adhyaksh of different levels of Panchayat and PBMC.
Therefore, Mr. AjoyBairagi requested Lt. Governor, A&N Islands that it will be befitting for the occasion if the Elected Representatives are assigned the job of Flag Hoisting at Village, Tehsil and District levels in A&N Islands. The local Administration can extend full support to the Elected Representatives by involving all the Government Departments particularly the Department of Education. It will also help in achieving the mission of HarGharTiranga initiated by Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi.
