Port Blair, Jun 20: Andaman Nicobar RajyaKarmachariMahasangh (ANRKM) has constantly worked for the welfare of the temporary employees and presented various letters and representations to coin a DRM regularising scheme but in vain.
The A&N Administration and its establishments spread over the Union Territory have engaged several employees in a Contract / DRMs / outsourcing manner for the smooth conduct of the official works and service deliverables to the citizens. The DRMs / Contract employees so engaged have served 5 years to 25 years in the same capacity without any additional benefits at par with other working regular employees.
On the clarion call of Prime Minister of India to fill up 10 Lakh post under Govt. Sector, ANRKM has recently submitted a proposal to Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A & N Islands with a proposed Regularising Policy after consulting various affiliated associations and with reference to different state policies.
The proposed policy focus on regularising the services of incumbents, who were served more than 5 years on the basis of Contract / DRM / outsourcing. The scheme also focuses on the creation of posts where no vacant posts exist may be filled by creating Supernumerary posts to cope with the current scenario of regularisation.
One of the salient features of the proposed scheme is that the employees engaged before 2004 may be regularised and inducted into Old Pension Scheme for availing pension benefits to the eligible employees.
ANRKM has coined the scheme with the intention of the welfare of the working class and one-time measures for all DRMs / Contract / Outsourced employees. ANRKM has raised the issue of regularisation with a solution for the cause before the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A & N Islands.
