Port Blair, Jan 30: A PAT case has been registered by PS Ograbraj against two fishermen for fishing in the Jarawa Reserved area on 29th January 2022.
According to information received on 26th January 2022, a Coast Guards team, patrolling near the area saw a suspected Dinghy near Jarawa Reserve Area, soon the information was given to Andaman and Nicobar Police.
Further, a Joint search operation team was formed consisting of police & AAJVS staffs and the team was pressed into action.
Immediately the team started search operations in nearby areas and later the fishing Dinghy was spotted near Patrick Islands close to the Jarawa Reserve area.
Soon the team detained two fishermen and seized the fishing Dinghy with fishing materials and further handed over them to Ograbraj Police, it is learnt. A case has been registered against the fishermen and further investigations are going on.
