Port Blair, Jan 27: Bharatiya Janata Party, State President Mr. Ajoy Bairagi today wrote to the Chief Secretary regarding delay in issuance of Kissan Credit Cards to farmers. In his letter he wrote that in his recent visit to North and Middle Andaman a group of farmers raised this important issue of delay in issuance of Kissan Credit Card.
He mentioned that more than 300 Farmers have filled the form and submitted in the Agriculture Department but of no use as the farmers are still waiting for their credit cards, more or less this is the same conditions across Islands.
He further stated that on enquiry it was found that Credit Cards are ready and with the bank, which fails to make sense why cards are being held and not distributed. This clears that Officers don’t want the benefit provided by Mr. Narendra Modi led government to reach till the farmers. The credit card gives the needy farmers a benefit of almost 3 lakh rupees hence he requested Chief Secretary to kindly direct the head of respective departments to issue the Kissan Credit Cards at the earliest.
