Port Blair, Feb 01: The Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs has organised two day training programme in coordination with the National Informatics Centre, Port Blair on ‘Plan Plus National Software’ commenced on 01.02.2012 in the training hall of NIC, Port Blair. The training programme was inaugurated by Mr. A.S. Dagar. Secretary (RD/Panch), A & N Administration in the presence of Mr. A. Nedunchezhiyan, Director (RD, PRIs & ULBs) and Mr. K. Narayanan, SIO, NIC, Port Blair.
Altogether 21 officers/officials of Block and State level are participating in the training programme. The participants consist of Block Development Officers, Assistant Engineer, Accounts Officer, Extension Officer, Sr. Investigators, Progress Assistant, Computer Assistant, staff of Amalgamated Clerical cadre, VLWs etc. The NIC officials of Port Blair are also participating.
The Director (RD, PRIs & ULBs) in his welcome address has stressed the need of such training to improve the skill of the officials involved in planning activities and encouraged the trainees for active participation and derive maximum benefits out of it.
The Secretary (RD/Panch) while addressing the participants has emphasised the need of planning process according to the present requirement and said that the planning process should begin from the grassroot level for the development of the village and the field level officials have active role to play in the planning process. He further stated that such training programmes need to be organised for the functionaries of PRIs also.
The faculty members from NIC New Delhi, Mr. Rajeev Coval. Scientist-D, Ms. Sakshi, Scientific Officer and Mr. Siddarth, Master Trainer frorn M/s New Horizon Ltd, Kolkata are imparting the training.
