Port Blair, Jan 06: The Member of Parliament and Leader of Opposition, Lok Sabha, Mr Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary on Wednesday held talks with the leaders of Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee at Gandhi Bhawan, Port Blair. Mr Chowdhary is on an official tour to these islands and was accorded a grand welcome by Congress workers at Gandhi Bhawan.
The ANTCC President, Mr Rangalal Halder welcomed him by offering shawl. The ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman, Mr TSG Bhasker and DCC President, Mr V.K Abdul Aziz presented him bouquets
During the meeting, Mr Chowdhary appreciated the efforts of ANTCC in their fight against the BJP led Central Government. He also guided them on various issues and assured them of his support.
“We had open and candid discussion on several local issues. The discussion also figured around strengthening the organization” said Mr Halder
The ANTCC Vice-President, Smti. Shanta Laxman Singh, Youth Congress President, Mr Elayaraja Alsu, NSUI State President, Mr M.A Sajid, DCC General Secretary, Mr Abhibhushan Ghosh, Mahila Congress South Andaman Co-ordinator Smti. Zubaida Begum and other leaders participated in the meeting. The meeting was convened by Congress leader, Mr Sebastian Tirkey. The DCC President, Mr V.K Abdul Aziz proposed the vote of thanks.
